According to White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, President Donald Trump is up for the challenge of bringing the economy back to the way it was before the coronavirus pandemic hit the United States.

Sandra Smith, host of “America’s Newsroom,” pointed out 3 million Americans filed for unemployment benefits during the last week alone bringing the total to 36.5 million since the onset of the pandemic.

She asked McEnany how Trump is responding to those unemployment numbers.

McEnany broke down Trump’s projections for each quarter. According to Trump, the third quarter is going to be the rebound quarter, the fourth quarter will be very encouraging, and next year will be booming.

McEnany said Trump is equipped and ready to restore economic success.

“He recognizes a pent up demand that’s there and ready to fuel the hottest economy in modern history once again which he brought us once and will do a second time,” McEnany said.

She went on to discuss the fourth coronavirus relief package being put forth by Democrats, calling it “entirely unacceptable.”

“It is a wishlist, it’s a big payout to donors and to lobbyists and allows illegal immigrants to get direct payments. It’s an unacceptable prospect,” McEnany said.

House Democrats unveiled the package Tuesday. The bill would include “$1 trillion to state and local governments, direct payments to Americans of up to $6,000 per household, as well as $25 billion for the Post Office,” as IJR previously reported.

During a meeting with governors on Wednesday, Trump told them the $3 trillion coronavirus relief bill is not going to make it far as he said it is
“D.O.A. Dead on arrival.”

Trump is open to a phase four coronavirus relief package, but he is going to take his time to consider what should be included in it.

“We’ve pumped $3 trillion into this economy so far and before we move on to a phase four, the president wants to think very carefully about how we’re using taxpayer dollars and make sure that we move forward with a smart phase four, not a Democrat wishlist,” McEnany said.
