Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) is calling President Joe Biden’s border policy “bone deep, down to the marrow, stupid.”
During a press conference at the border with other Republican senators, Kennedy told reporters, “I’m sorry that they won’t allow you to see what we saw. I’m not sure there are words in english to describe it.”
He continued, “If you talked to the border patrol agents, those women and men will tell you that what President Biden is doing is bone deep, down to the marrow, stupid.”
The senator claimed, “They want to go back to the border practices and the border security that existed on the day that President Biden was inaugurated.”
Kennedy called on both Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to visit the border.

“It became clear to me today that there are one or two things going on here,” Kennedy said. “Either President Biden believes in open borders, you do have to watch what politicians do, not what they say, or the people that President Biden put in charge to make border security policy are not qualified to manage a food truck.”
The president announced on Wednesday he was tapping Harris to handle the situation at the southern border, as IJR reported.
Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R) tore into Biden for the decision, “She’s about the worst possible choice one could make.”
He added, “At no point in her career has she given any indication that she considers the border a problem or a serious threat.”
Ducey argued, “If President Biden’s intent was to show that he’s taking this issue seriously, he’s really done the exact opposite here. He’s completely trivialized this issue by putting someone in charge who flat out just doesn’t care.”
During his first press conference since taking office, Biden defended his policies, saying they have nothing to do with the surge of migrants, as IJR reported.
“It happens every single solitary year. There is a significant increase in the number of people coming to the border in the winter months of January, February, March… Does anybody suggest that there was a 31% increase under Trump because he was a nice guy and he was doing good things at the border? That’s not the reason they’re coming,” Biden said.
