Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) took a swipe at Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) for saying they did not watch the January 6 select committee hearing.
“I’m sure they were at least getting rundowns on it. The bottom line, even if you disagree with the committee… you had four officers that put their life on the line to defend this country, that represent, by the way. They weren’t there just as themselves. They were representing thousands that did hand-to-hand combat,” Kinzinger said during a CNN interview.
He added, “You at least owe them your attention, and if they truly didn’t watch it, I’d be happy to send them a Beta or VHS copy of it so they can sit in their office and do that.”

When asked if he watched the hearing, McConnell replied, “I was busy doing work. I serve in the Senate.”
McCarthy made similar comments, saying he was stuck in “back-to-back meetings.”
Kinzinger fired back at McCarthy earlier this week after the House minority leader called him a “Pelosi Republican,” as IJR reported.
“It’s childish. We’re doing big things right now. We’re getting to the answers of the worst attack on the Capitol since the War of 1812. He can call me whatever names he wants,” Kinzinger said.
He added, “The bottom line [is] I’m an elected member of Congress. I’m a Republican. Kevin McCarthy is technically my Republican leader, and to call members of Congress by childish names like Donald Trump used to do, I guess, is just kinda par for the course.”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) added Kinzinger to the select committee on Sunday, as IJR reported.
