Singer Madonna credited her children for their support following a health scare that left her in the intensive care unit (ICU.)

On Sunday, Madonna, 64, took to her Instagram page to share how her children put her first in her time of need.

“As a Mother you can really get caught up In the needs Of your children and the seemingly endless giving……….. But when the chips were down my children really showed up for me. I saw a side to them I had never seen before,” she said, adding “It made all the difference.”

On July 10, the pop singer posted an update on her Instagram page following her release from the hospital. In her post, she shared her “first thought” when waking up in the hospital was her children.

“My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show,” she continued.

On July 28, Madonna celebrated her recovery and the 40th birthday of her first album.

“To be able to move my body and dance just a little bit makes me feel like the Luckiest Star in the world!” she wrote in an Instagram post.

She also expressed her gratitude to all her “fans and friends.”

“You must be my lucky stars too! And Happy 40th Birthday to my very. First Album,” she added.

On June 28, the singer’s long-time manager, Gary Oseary, announced she was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) after developing “a serious bacterial infection.”

However, Oseary assured her fans her health was “improving” and she would be expected to make “a full recovery.”
