Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) appears to be the victim of a prank report that led a police team to enter her house early in the morning.

In a tweet Wednesday morning, Greene wrote, “Last night, I was swatted just after 1 am.”

“I can’t express enough gratitude to my local law enforcement here in Rome, Floyd County,” she added.

Last night, I was swatted just after 1 am.

I can’t express enough gratitude to my local law enforcement here in Rome, Floyd County.

More details to come.

— Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene🇺🇸 (@RepMTG) August 24, 2022

Greene’s tweet appears to be a reference to the practice of “swatting,” which Cambridge Dictionary describes as “the action of making a false report of a serious emergency so that a SWAT team (= a group of officers trained to deal with dangerous situations) will go to a person’s home, by someone who wants to frighten, upset, or cause problems for that person.”

Her tweet quickly garnered responses from conservatives.

Elijah Schaffer of The Blaze wrote, “Glad you are safe!”

This needs to stop immediately! They did this twice to my friend Stew Peters and @KandissTaylor! The FBI should do their jobs for once https://t.co/wHkQWlMg8R

Very thankful for the local law enforcement there in Rome. Whoever did this will face the consequences of the full extent of the law. https://t.co/t1UOVML2vm

The Georgia Congresswoman shared a tweet from a user who wrote, “Whoever did this to [Greene] needs to be punished to the fullest extent of the law. This is horrific [and] incredibly dangerous!”

Former Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon’s home in Washington, D.C., was the subject of a “swatting” incident in June.
