Actor Martin Lawrence gave an update on fellow actor Jamie Foxx’s health.
On Thursday, Lawrence was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles. He spoke with Extra about his friend.
“Well, I hear he’s doing better. My prayers go out for him every night and just wishing the best for him, one of the best that we got in Hollywood. Not only one of the best entertainers, but a good person,” he said.
According to MSN, Foxx reportedly suffered a stroke. However, the diagnosis has not been confirmed.
Sources told TMZ his “condition was serious enough” to put him in the hospital.
Another source revealed Foxx was on the mend.
“He’s communicating now, and that’s good news,” the source shared.
In 2021, Foxx spoke with Men’s Health about how he works out to stay fit and healthy. He also said he didn’t use a personal trainer.
“I do that as soon as I get out of bed and that way I knock it out of the way so I don’t have the anxiety, and I just get through it. If you do a little bit of that every day, pretty soon you’ll start to build up your endurance,” he explained.
He shared some “words of wisdom” to help others reach their fitness goals.
“Don’t kill yourself trying to be in shape. Just moderation, eat what you like, just don’t eat as much of it,” he said.
On April 12, Foxx’s family posted a statement on his daughter Corrine’s Instagram page. It was revealed that the Oscar winner “experienced a medical complication.”
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers,” the statement continued. “The family asks for privacy during this time.”
