President Donald Trump provided an update on Operation Epic Fury, stating the mission is was ā€œnearing completion.ā€

In his first prime-time speech since the war began, the president said l Operation Epic Fury, is meeting or exceeding all of its benchmarks.

ā€œNever in the history of warfare has an enemy suffered such clear and devastating large-scale losses in a matter of weeks,ā€ he said.

He boasted about the destruction of Iran’s navy, air force and the ā€œterrorist regimeā€ that once led the country.

Trump said the prospect that Iran might obtain a nuclear weapon as an ā€œintolerable threatā€ that he vowed would ā€œneverā€ happen during his presidency.

Iran’s ā€œability to launch missiles and drones is dramatically curtailed, and their weapons, factories and rocket launchers are being blown to pieces,ā€ Trump said.

At the same time he said the operation was ā€œnearing completion,ā€ he said a military escalation was on its way.

ā€œWe’re going to hit them extremely hard,ā€ Trump said. ā€œOver the next two to three weeks, we’re going to bring them back to the stone ages where they belong.ā€

The speech comes as oil prices are spiking, poll numbers are dismal, and a and people continue to wonder — what is the United States trying to accomplish?

The answer has shifted throughout the mission.

On Wednesday night, Trump framed the war’s success around three goals: Eliminating the country’s navy, ā€œhurtingā€ their air force and missile program, and ā€œannihilating their defense industrial base,ā€ the outlet reported.

ā€œWe’ve done all of it,ā€ he said, calling those onjectives ā€œsimple and clear.ā€
