Mary Trump, the niece of the president, has a message for President Donald Trump: “Resign.”
Asked during an exclusive interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos what the “single most important thing” that Americans need to know about Donald Trump, Mary Trump responded, “He’s utterly incapable of leading this country.”
“And it’s dangerous to allow him to do so,” she added.
Asked later, “If you’re in the Oval Office today, what would you say to him?”
She quickly answered, “Resign.”

During the interview, Mary Trump was also asked about her claim in her new book, “Too Much and Never Enough,” that Donald Trump allegedly paid someone to take the SAT for him. She said she has been “told this by people in my family” and that she is “absolutely confident that it’s true.”
Asked a follow-up on how she knows the claim is true, she responded, “I trust my sources.” When then asked how her sources know, Mary Trump answered, “They were alive at the time, so they have firsthand knowledge.”
“Can you prove it’s true?” Stephanopoulos continued to press, to which Mary Trump said, “No, because I’m counting on people I trust who told me this story. So in terms of documentation, no, I can’t prove it.”
In response to Mary Trump’s interview, the White House referred ABC News to a previous statement, “Mary Trump and her book’s publisher may claim to be acting in the public interest, but this book is clearly in the author’s own financial self-interest.”
The statement continued, “President Trump has been in office for over three years working on behalf of the American people – why speak out now? The President describes the relationship he had with his father as warm and said his father was very good to him. He said his father was loving and not at all hard on him as a child.”
