Meghan McCain, the daughter of the late-Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), is coming to her father’s defense after President Donald Trump tweeted another criticism of him.
“Two years after he died, you still obsess over my dad. It kills you that no one will ever love you or remember you like they loved and remember him. He served his country with honor, you have disgraced the office of the presidency,” McCain wrote on Twitter Friday.
She added, “You couldn’t even pull it out in Arizona.”

President-elect Joe Biden solidified his electoral victory over Trump by winning Arizona, as IJR previously reported.
In September, Meghan McCain fired back at Trump after allegations surfaced in a report published by The Atlantic about him referring to her father as a “loser.”
“I just got through two years without my Dad a few days ago. The loss is still incredibly painful and raw. No one is more acutely aware of how vile and disgusting Trump has been to my family, it is still hard to understand – America knows who this man is,” Meghan McCain tweeted.
She continued in a separate tweet, “This never stops being incredibly painful, triggering, and it rips off new layers of grief that wreak havoc on my life. I wouldn’t wish any of it on my worst enemy. I truly pray for peace for my family, our grief, and for this country.”
During a press briefing in September, a reporter asked Trump if he regrets making certain comments about John McCain, as IJR previously reported.
“I say what I say, and I never got along with John McCain. I disagreed with John McCain; you know that better than anybody, frankly,” Trump said.
He went on, “I wasn’t a fan. I disagreed with many of his views. I disagreed with his views on these ridiculous, endless wars. I disagreed with the way he handled the vets, the V.A.”
Despite Trump’s numerous attacks on John McCain, both before and after his death, he said he “respected him.”
John McCain’s widow, Cindy McCain, endorsed Biden.
Trump responded to her endorsement on Twitter.
“I hardly know Cindy McCain other than having put her on a Committee at her husband’s request. Joe Biden was John McCain’s lapdog. So many BAD decisions on Endless Wars [and] the V.A., which I brought from a horror show to HIGH APPROVAL. Never a fan of John. Cindy can have Sleepy Joe!” Trump wrote.
Cindy McCain later said during an interview on “Good Morning America” she did not “have any” response to Trump’s comments.
