Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of killing political activist Charlie Kirk, changed dramatically in the last year.

That is according to his mother, court documents revealed, per Fox News.

Robinson has been charged for assassinating Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, who Robinson allegedly shot at an event on a university campus in Utah Sept. 10.

His mother, who was not named, described her son as a person with a promising future  — a college scholarship recipient. Robinson, however, had “become more political” as he supported “pro-gay and trans rights,” per court documents.

She said Robinson and his father, who also was not named, had arguments over their differing ideologies.

Robinson spoke about the event at Utah Valley University — he said the venue was “stupid”

and Kirk “spreads too much hate.”

In court filings, prosecutors allege Robinson targeted Kirk “because of his political expression.”

His parents recognized him from surveillance video released after the shooting and talked him into turning himself in.

“Robinson’s father reported that when his wife showed him the surveillance image of the suspected shooter in the news, he agreed that it looked like their son,” prosecutors said in court filings.

Robinson then suggested he was the killer and did not want to be incarcerated.

“As they discussed the situation, Robinson implied that he was the shooter and stated that he couldn’t go to jail and just wanted to end it,” prosecutors wrote. “When asked why he did it, Robinson explained there is too much evil and the guy [Charlie Kirk] spreads too much hate.”

Robinson was charged Tuesday with a total of seven counts — aggravated murder, discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, two counts of obstruction of justice, two counts of tampering with a witness and violent offense committed in the presence of a child, court documents show.

The two counts of obstruction of justice charges are for concealing the rifle and discarding clothing. The two counts of witness tampering come as he allegedly urged his roommate to withhold information.

Kirk, 31, was answering questions in the courtyard of UVU when a gunman opened fire from a rooftop about 200 yards away, according to authorities and video taken at the scene.

Kirk, leaves behind his widow and two children, died at a nearby hospital.

Robinson’s mother said her son had become radicalized after becoming involved with his biological male roommate who is transitioning to female.

Utah County District Attorney Jeff Gray said in Robinson allegedly admitted, “I had enough of [Kirk’s] hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out.”

He said he planned the attack for “a bit over a week.”

There were also a series of texts between Robinson and his roommate where Robinson allegedly confessed and was worried he would not be able to get the suspected murder weapon he allegedly hid because police had locked down the area.
