Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) believed former President Donald Trump is like Jesus Christ.
Greene made the comparison during a rally Sunday in Las Vegas, according to The Hill.
“The Democrats and the fake news media want to constantly talk about, ‘Oh, President Trump is a convicted felon,’” Greene said. “Well, you want to know something? The man that I worship is also a convicted felon, and he was murdered on a Roman cross.”
Trump was convicted of 34 counts of falsifying business records in a New York hush money trial. This conviction made him the first president in U.S. history to become a convicted felon.
Trump plans to appeal the conviction.
This isn’t the first time Greene compared Trump to Jesus.
Greenemade the comparison before Trump’s arraignment in last year.
“Trump is joining some of the most incredible people in history being arrested today. Nelson Mandela was arrested, served time in prison. Jesus — Jesus was arrested and murdered by the Roman government,” Greene said ion Right Side Broadcasting.
Despite the conviction, polling shows Trump ahead of President Joe Biden in many swing states.
