Tesla CEO Elon Musk is firing back at NBC after a host on its streaming platform Peacock criticized his purchase of Twitter.
On Sunday, host Mehdi Hasan said, “We are living through an unspeakably dangerous moment. The pro-Q’Anon, pro-neo-Nazi faction of the Republican Party is poised to expand dramatically come the midterms.”
“We’re just two years away from Donald Trump very possibly re-seizing executive power,” he continued.
Finally, he said, “If that happens, we may look back on this past week as a pivotal moment, when a petulant and not-so-bright billionaire casually bought one of the most influential messaging machines and just handed it to the far-right”

Musk reacted on Twitter writing, “NBC [is] basically saying Republicans are Nazis…”
“Same org that covered up Hunter Biden laptop story, had Harvey Weinstein story early [and] killed it [and] built Matt Lauer his rape office. Lovely people,” he added.

Musk’s tweet refers to allegations that NBC News tried to kill a story about allegations of sexual assault made against Harvey Weinstein.
He also pointed to allegations of sexual misconduct made against former NBC News host Matt Lauer and reports that he had a button on his desk that locked the door to his office.
Additionally, he criticized the network’s coverage of information that came from Hunter Biden’s laptop ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
Others have also raised concerns about Musk’s purchase of Twitter.
On Sunday, CNN media analyst David Zurawik said, “We gave over what amounts to our internet waves to Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. And we are in so much trouble because those guys believe in making money.”
“This is dangerous. We can’t think anymore in this country…We don’t have people in Congress who can make regulations that can make it work. I think we can look to the western countries in Europe for how they are trying to limit it,” he continued.

"You need regulation. You cannot let these guys control discourse in this country or we are headed to hell. We are there. Trump opened the gates of hell and now they’re chasing us down." pic.twitter.com/QubyKZwVCQ
Finally, Zurawik insisted, “You need controls on this. You need regulation. You cannot let these guys control discourse in this country, or we are headed to hell. We are there. Trump opened the gates of hell, and now they’re chasing us down.”
