Singer Neil Young is sounding off yet again about the possibility of taking legal recourse against President Donald Trump.

On Monday, Young took to his website with an open letter citing his concerns. He admitted that he’s reconsidering suing the president over the use of his music at political events.

The Grammy Award-winning singer highlighted the presumed irony of Trump blaring his hit record “Rockin’ in the Free World” considering the recent escalation of protests that have occurred due to the president’s deployment of federal agents into cities.

“I am reconsidering,” Young wrote in the post on his website. “Imagine what it feels like to hear ‘Rockin’ in the Free World’ after this President speaks, like it is his theme song. I did not write it for that.”

“I am changing my mind about suing Donald Trump,” Young wrote on his official website. “I am looking at it again. There is a long history to consider and I originally considered it, deciding not to pursue.”

“Rockin’ in the Free World” being played at one of Trump’s events:

Although Young’s disdain for Trump has never been a secret, he’s admitted that his level of contempt has reached new heights in the wake of Trump’s use of the military that many have described as an overreach of power.

“Trump has no respect for our military,” Young wrote. “They are not to be used on the streets of America against law abiding citizens for a Political charade orchestrated by a challenged President.”

He went on to suggest that local law enforcement should take the initiative to arrest the federal agents that Trump has deployed to various cities across the country.

Describing them as “untrained thugs” with “zero de-escalation training,” Young insists they are unqualified to be in the streets of metropolitan cities.

He added, “Our police should arrest these untrained thugs for breaking our laws. They have zero de-escalation training, a must-have for the job they are mishandling, so they’re totally unqualified to be there.”

Young’s latest remarks follow his previous remarks about Trump regarding his disapproval of the president’s leadership. At the time, Young wrote a scathing op-ed about Trump describing him as a “disgrace” to the United States, as previously reported on IJR.

The president has not responded to Young’s complaints.
