The New York Post is getting some heat from the White House over its reporting on President Joe Biden “freezing.”
White House spokesperson Andrew Bates took aim at the New York Post and other right-wing media for “disrespecting” its readers, per the HuffPost.
They did this, Bates said, by misrepresenting a video of Biden allegedly “freezing” at a Los Angeles fundraiser.
Conservative outlets aired a clip of Biden waving to the crowd. He standing calmly for a moment when former President Barack Obama grabs Biden’s hand and says something to him. The men then walk off the stage as Obama’s hand is placed on Biden’s shoulder.
According to reporting by the Post, Biden “appeared to freeze up” and “had to be led offstage” by Obama.
This is just the latest in attacks towards Biden in the media.
Last week, an edited clip showed Biden sitting down at a D-Day ceremony.
The media claimed Biden was trying to sit in a chair that did not exist.
The Post referred to Biden as the “Meander in Chief” by publishing a story that suggested Biden wandered away from a skydiving exhibition in Italy. Biden was actually walking toward a parachute rigger.
Bates criticized the conservative outlets such reporting, especially this close to the debate between Biden and Trump on June 27.
“Fresh off being fact checked by at least 6 mainstream outlets for lying about @POTUS with cheap fakes, Rupert Murdoch’s sad little super pac, the New York Post, is back to disrespecting it’s readers & itself once again,” Bates posted on X, the former Twitter. “Their ethical standards could deal with a little unfreezing.”
Bates compared the tabloid’s headline to thoe headlines used by the Daily Mail and the Russian state agency Tass. Both have used the same “freezing” language regarding the incident.
Bates wrote they “all got the same cheap fake memo.”
“By pretending the President taking in an applauding crowd for a few seconds is somehow wrong, all they’re really admitting is ― once again ― is they can’t take on the leadership that’s fueling the strongest economic growth in the world & bringing violent crime to a 50 year low,” Bates on X.
He also took a shot at the Republican National Committee.
