Former President Donald Trump is urging his supporters to donate to his Save America PAC amid a battle with the Republican Party over using his name for fundraising purposes.
“No more money for RINOS,” Trump said in a statement on Monday evening, referring to the term “Republican In Name Only.”
He continued, “They do nothing but hurt the Republican Party and our great voting base — they will never lead us to Greatness. Send your donation to Save America PAC at DonaldJTrump.com. We will bring it all back stronger than ever before!”
Lawyers for Trump sent out cease-and-desist letters Friday to the Republican National Committee, National Republican Congressional Campaign, and National Republican Senate Campaign demanding they stop using his name on fundraising emails and merchandise, as Politico first reported.
According to one of the former president’s advisers, Trump was frustrated with the three groups for supporting Republican lawmakers who voted to impeach him over the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
The RNC’s top lawyer, Justin Riemer, wrote in a response letter that Trump “reaffirmed” to RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel over the weekend he approves of the use of his name by the party.
The Republican Party also made it clear it had “every right to refer to public figures as it engages in core, First Amendment-protected political speech.”
Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) took to Twitter to respond to the former president’s statement.
“As I have said: Trump demands loyalty and gives none. Statement of a man desperate for relevance but feeling the changing tides,” Kinzinger tweeted.

Trump has vowed to campaign against those who he has felt wronged him, including Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), as IJR reported.
“I will not be endorsing, under any circumstances, the failed candidate from the great State of Alaska, Lisa Murkowski. She represents her state badly and her country even worse,” Trump said in a statement over the weekend.
He added, “I do not know where other people will be next year, but I know where I will be – in Alaska campaigning against a disloyal and very bad Senator. Her vote to advance radical left Democrat Deb Haaland for Secretary of the Interior is yet another example of Murkowski not standing up for Alaska.”
Murkowski is one of the seven Republicans who voted to convict Trump on the charge of inciting an insurrection.
