Former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama literally phoned it in.
What they phoned in was their endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris for president.
The endorsement came Friday in the form of a video called “Endorsement,” The Hill reported.
The one-minute video shows Harris receiving a phone call from the Obamas as they back Harris.
“We called to say Michelle and I couldn’t be prouder to endorse you and do everything we can to get you through this election and into the Oval Office,” Obama said.
Harris was grateful for his words.
“I am looking forward to doing this with the two of you, Doug and I both,” she said, referencing her husband. “The words you have spoken and the friendship you have given over all these years mean more than I can express so thank you both, it means so much. And, we’re going to have some fun with this too, aren’t we?”
President Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race Sunday and quickly endorsed Harris to pick up the mantle and run on the Democratic ticket.
Other top Democrats have also endorsed Harris, including former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), and Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.)
Michelle Obama also voiced her support on the call.
“I can’t have this phone call without saying to my girl Kamala: I am proud of you. This is going to be historic,” Michelle Obama said.
Not everyone embraced the message and how it was delivered.
