With just four days until the election, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is criticizing President Donald Trump and his administration for making it more difficult for Americans to vote.

MNSBC’s Andrea Mitchell noted a study conducted by the network found a “very suspicious” coincidence between slow letter delivery and large cities with minority voters.

She asked Pelosi how confident she is the mail-in ballots will be counted and whether there will be a full count and fair election.

“Well, we have to, and again they have poisoned the well in so many ways, dismantling the Postal Service, trying to slow down the mail and the rest, not putting resources as we have asked for in any package of significance that would help facilitate voting in person,” Pelosi said.

She added, “They have no respect for the fact that so many people are standing in line for hours because they want to honor their sacred right to vote and yet they won’t allocate more resources for more voting places in a safe way for people to vote.”

Pelosi pointed to a county in Texas as an example of where there is only one place to drop off a ballot officially.

“They’re trying to put up barriers to participation. We don’t agonize. We organize,” Pelosi said.

She explained she feels “very confident” Democrats will win the White House despite the president’s claim the Republicans will take the majority.

Pelosi is also hopeful the Democrats will take the Senate.

“I have every confidence that on January 20th Joe Biden will be inaugurated the president of the United States,” Pelosi said.

She continued, “But we don’t assume anything. I’m confident because we’re doing the work. We’ve been down this path before and that’s not going to happen again.”

According to a survey conducted by CNN, Edison Research, and Catalist, about 36% of registered voters have already cast ballots as of Wednesday evening.
