Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) is being referred to as “Don Johnson” by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
Pelosi said to reporters at her press briefing Thursday, “Don Johnson… was his first name Don?”
“‘Senator’ let me call him… not ‘Miami Vice’ or anything like that,” she added with laughter after reporters told her it is “Ron.”
The House speaker then said, “Ron Johnson seems to be taking the lead on what the scope would be of how we look at protecting our country from domestic terrorism.”
It is unclear if Pelosi intentionally meant to call Johnson by “Don” or if it was an accident.

The moment, however, quickly caught attention on social media, including from actor Chris Redd who acts in the TV show “Kenan” with Don Johnson:

Nancy Pelosi, in her weekly press conference, just said "Is it Don Johnson, what's his name, Ron, Don?" about Senator Ron "Russian" Johnson. "Oh so he's not Miami Vice..?" with a chuckle.

I needed some Nancy P. shade this morning, big time.
Let's be clear that taking cues from Don Johnson would be amazing too. https://t.co/OnNmeJLAeP

Although I would personally enjoy it if McConnell took his cues from Don Johnson when showing up to the Senate. https://t.co/Ari1lq3G68 pic.twitter.com/vOo4FRnQHJ

During Thursday’s press briefing, Pelosi was asked if the House of Representatives will seek any other punishments for former President Donald Trump following his acquittal in the Senate, as IJR reported.
“He’s gone,” she said. “What we need is the truth and that’s what we want to find out, the truth about what is happening in our country to enable something like this to be acceptable to the Republican party.”
