Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is suggesting former President Donald Trump is “stupid” for his latest position on abortion.
During an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Tuesday, Pelosi addressed Trump’s statement that abortion restrictions should be left up to the states.
“Well, first, let me say the issue about a woman’s right to choose, it’s a democracy issue. This is about freedom, freedom of women to make their decision, families to make their decisions,” she said.
The California Democrat added, “So, when what’s his name said what he said yesterday, he either is stupid or he thinks the rest of us are stupid.”
She went on:
“He takes great pride in overturning Roe v. Wade. Takes great pride in it. And then the way the press wrote it up just cracked me up because it said, ‘Donald Trump believes that state—’ he doesn’t believe anything. He believes in his political survival, and that’s what he’s trying to accommodate.”

Finally, Pelosi ended with another jab, saying, “But you can’t be a little bit pro-life. You’re either there or you’re not there. And people see that. So, he may have outsmarted — well, I hate to say outsmarted because, what? It doesn’t seem to apply — but why would the press say ‘he believes?’ He doesn’t believe anything.”
In a video posted on Truth on Monday, Trump addressed his position on abortion.
“The states will determine by vote, or legislation, or perhaps both, and whatever they decide must be the law of the land – in this case, the law of the state,” Trump said.
He added, “Many states will be different. Many states will have a different number of weeks … at the end of the day it is all about the will of the people.”
