Vice President Mike Pence has plans to receive the COVID-19 vaccine soon.
“We have cut red tape, but we’ve cut no corners when it comes to the development of this vaccine. I look forward in the days ahead to receiving the vaccine myself and do so without hesitation,” Pence said while speaking in Indiana on Tuesday.
He added, “The American people can be confident that while we’ve moved faster than the FDA has ever moved, we have literally not compromised any standard of safety.”

According to The Hill, there are ongoing discussions in the administration on when and how Pence will be getting the vaccine.
During her press briefing on Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said President Donald Trump will take the vaccine “as soon as his medical team determines it’s best.”
She emphasized he is prioritizing the most vulnerable including frontline workers and those in long-term care facilities.
McEnany indicated there will be senior administration officials who will take it publicly “to instill that confidence.”
She told reporters Trump “absolutely” wants Americans to receive the vaccine.

Dr. Anthony Fauci shared his thoughts on when President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris should receive the vaccine, as IJR previously reported.
“This is a person who very soon will be the president of the United States. Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will very soon be the vice president of the United States,” he said during his appearance on “Good Morning America” on Tuesday.
Fauci continued, “For security reasons, I really feel strongly that we should get them vaccinated as soon as we possibly can. You want him fully protected as he enters into the presidency in January. So that would be my strong recommendation.”
He also said of Trump, “If he were asking me, I would recommend that he do that, as well as Vice President Pence.”
Trump called the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s authorization for Pfizer/BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine a “medical miracle,” as IJR previously reported.
“We have delivered a safe and effective vaccine in just nine months. This is one of the greatest scientific accomplishments in history. It will save millions of lives and soon end the pandemic once and for all,” Trump said in a video he posted on Twitter Friday.
