Oh look — another alleged Islamist terror plot foiled just in time in Europe. This time, it’s Germany again, because apparently, lessons don’t stick over there. Five men — three Moroccan nationals, an Egyptian prayer leader, and a Syrian — were allegedly plotting to drive a vehicle straight into a packed Christmas market in Bavaria. Because nothing says “religious devotion” like mowing down families enjoying bratwurst and holiday music.

Let’s start with the part that really grinds the gears: the so-called “prayer leader” — yes, a religious figure — who allegedly used his platform at a mosque in the Dingolfing-Landau area to incite others to kill “as many people as possible.” That’s not a misquote. That’s what German authorities say was the goal. So while German children were writing letters to Santa, these fine gentlemen were allegedly sketching out mass murder in a house of worship.

Now, we’re told to celebrate the “swift action” by German authorities. Sure, the arrests may have prevented a massacre, and good on the Bavarian State Office for the Protection of the Constitution for picking up the tip. But let’s not pat too many backs just yet — because if you have to keep foiling this exact same type of attack, year after year, in country after country, maybe it’s time to admit something deeper is broken.

BREAKING: German police stopped an Islamist attack targeting a Bavarian Christmas market.

Five suspects arrested: an Egyptian, a Syrian, and three Moroccans. Prosecutors say the plan was to ram a vehicle into crowds, with calls from a local mosque to maximize casualties.

Should Germany adopt stricter immigration policies to prevent potential terrorist plots?

What’s the real outrage here? It’s that nothing changes. Europe — especially Germany — continues to roll out the welcome mat for waves of unvetted migrants from nations steeped in radical ideologies, and then acts shocked when some of them allegedly plot to blow up or run over the very citizens who offered them refuge. The level of delusion would be comical if it weren’t soaked in blood.

And here’s the twisted part: bring this up, and you’re instantly labeled xenophobic or Islamophobic. You could be standing in the smoking rubble of a Christmas market and some official will still rush to the nearest podium to remind you that “the vast majority are peaceful.” Fine — but when radical ideology is allegedly being stirred in a mosque, and it leads to real, planned carnage, maybe it’s time to stop chanting bumper sticker slogans and actually protect your citizens.

Meanwhile, let’s talk about what this would look like if the plot hadn’t been stopped. We’ve seen it before — the bodies, the flowers, the candles, the hollow speeches from the same people who refuse to close the back door or even look through the peephole. “Our thoughts are with the victims,” they’ll say, as they work on the next refugee intake quota.

And let’s not pretend this is limited to Europe. Here in the U.S., during the Biden years, our own borders were wide open, surveillance focused more on conservative parents at school board meetings than on actual terror threats, and the media couldn’t even say “Islamist” without breaking into a cold sweat. Thank God — and I mean that — President Trump is back in office with J.D. Vance helping clean up the mess. The adults are back at the table, and not a moment too soon.

Because here’s the cold truth: this wasn’t just about one alleged plot. This is about the suicidal policies of a Western elite so obsessed with looking tolerant that they’ve forgotten their first duty — to protect their people. If you’re more worried about offending radicals than stopping them, then you’re not a leader. You’re a liability.

So yes, good job to the German authorities for stopping this one. But if you’re shocked by it, you haven’t been paying attention. And if you’re still unwilling to admit where the threat is coming from — and why it’s being allowed to grow — then don’t be surprised when you’re lighting candles again next December, pretending it’s all some unsolvable mystery.
