Weeks of speculation and online tension gave way to a quieter development, as Erika Kirk revealed she had held a lengthy, in-person conversation with commentator Candace Owens — a meeting that both women described as productive and clarifying.
According to Fox News, Kirk, the widow of conservative Charlie Kirk, shared the update in a brief statement posted to X, offering little detail but signaling that the tone between the two had shifted.
“Had a very productive conversation with @RealCandaceO,” Kirk wrote. “More to come from both of us. Looking forward to AmFest this week. Time to get back to work.”
The post marked the first public acknowledgment that the two had spoken directly following weeks of online friction that unfolded in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
During that period, speculation and conspiracy-driven exchanges played out publicly, fueling divisions among supporters and commentators alike.
Owens soon followed with her own statement, confirming the meeting and emphasizing both its length and substance.
According to Owens, the discussion lasted more than four hours and covered a wide range of issues that had previously been debated from a distance.
“Erika and I had an extremely productive 4 1/2 hour meeting that I think we both feel should have taken place a lot earlier than it did,” Owens said.
She acknowledged that the conversation did not erase every disagreement but stressed that it brought unexpected alignment on key points.
“We agreed much more than I had anticipated. Of course, we also disagreed on various points and people as well. Most importantly, we were able to share intel and clarify intent,” Owens said.
Owens added that the immediate impact of the discussion was a noticeable easing of tensions that had lingered for weeks. While she did not provide specifics, she indicated that the exchange helped reset the tone between them.
“I will of course have a full rundown for you all tomorrow as I am currently exhausted, but I wanted to quickly let you guys know that absolutely nothing was held back and the immediate result was that tensions were thawed,” she said.
The meeting appears to reflect a mutual effort to move beyond public disputes and address misunderstandings privately, rather than through social media posts and speculation.
Kirk’s reference to returning to work and looking ahead to AmFest further suggested a desire to refocus attention on shared goals.
While neither woman outlined the next steps, both hinted that additional information would be released soon. For now, the statements suggest a pause — if not an end — to a public rift that had drawn widespread attention within conservative circles following Charlie Kirk’s death.
