White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is sharing that former President Donald Trump has not requested an intelligence briefing.
During Monday’s press briefing, the White House press secretary was asked if Trump has requested any intelligence briefings yet since leaving office and touched on President Joe Biden’s recent remarks suggesting there is “no need” for Trump to get the briefings.
“He was expressing his concern about former President Trump receiving access to sensitive intelligence,” she said, adding, “But he also has deep trust in his own intelligence team to make a determination about how to provide intelligence information if at any point the former president requests a briefing.”
Psaki added, “That is not currently applicable, but if he should request a briefing, he leaves it to them to make a determination.”
She also noted that she is not aware of Trump requesting an intelligence briefing.

Biden told CBS News’ Norah O’Donnell in a recent interview that he does not believe Trump should receive intelligence briefings, as IJR reported — though former presidents are traditionally given the briefings.
If Trump were cut off from receiving intelligence briefings, this would be the first time for a former president.
Biden cited Trump’s “erratic behavior unrelated to the insurrection” as a reason he does not believe the former president should receive briefings.
“I just think that there’s no need for him to have the intelligence briefing,” the president said.
Biden added during the interview, “What value is giving him an intelligence briefing? What impact does he have at all, other than the fact he might slip and say something?”
