White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked about a tweet from a staffer for Vice President Kamala Harris that raised some eyebrows after a negative report was released about her management style.
On Monday, Fox News’ Jacqui Heinrich noted that there was another report about the work environment in Harris’ office, and after that report was published, one staffer tweeted about how much he likes his job.
She pointed out that there was a “similar sort of social media push” over the summer amid negative reports about Harris and asked, “Did anybody ask the deputy director to put out a positive tweet, or was that all him?”
“I’m not aware of any specific ask for a positive tweet or a specific tweet. I would point you to the vice president’s office,” Psaki responded.
She added, “I work with a number of people in the vice president’s office who certainly are looking forward to continuing their jobs.”

The Washington Post published a report on Saturday about Harris’ management style and why she “churns through top-level Democratic staff.”
According to the paper, “Staffers who worked for Harris before she was vice president said one consistent problem was that Harris would refuse to wade into briefing materials prepared by staff members, then berate employees when she appeared unprepared.”
“It’s clear that you’re not working with somebody who is willing to do the prep and the work,” a former staffer told the Post. “With Kamala you have to put up with a constant amount of soul-destroying criticism and also her own lack of confidence. So you’re constantly sort of propping up a bully and it’s not really clear why.”
The Post notes that defenders of Harris say “the criticism against her is often steeped in the same racism and sexism that have followed a woman who has been a first in every job she’s done over the past two decades.”
David Gins, the deputy director of Operations for Harris, tweeted on Sunday, “Hi. My name is David Gins. I work for Vice President Harris on behalf of the American people as Deputy Director for Operations and absolutely love my job.”
“Just thought some of you should know,” he added.

The Post’s report comes after Harris aides announced their departures, which sparked more speculation about the atmosphere of her office, as IJR reported.
