I just want to see people embracing the challenge to step up, go all in, and go deeper. So, anything that challenges people to get honest and real is worth talking about... always!
This is a copy of my book preface and also the chapter titles and summaries you find within the book. this will give you further clarity of the things I discuss. Plenty of conversation starters here... PREFACE This book was not born from theory, trend, or reactionary frustration. It was born out of burden: The burden for a Church that increasingly resembles the very world it was meant to transform. The burden for believers who love God sincerely, yet feel confused, weary, or compromised by the pressure of the age. The burden for clarity in a season where truth has been softened, holiness redefined, and obedience delayed. I did not write this book as an outsider critiquing the Church. I wrote as one who loves her deeply. I have watched sincerity coexist with compromise. Passion coexist with passivity. Grace preached powerfully while repentance is quietly avoided. I have also seen faithful believers longing for more—more depth, more clarity, more courage, more alignment with the Word of God—in a world that feels increasingly unstable and hostile to truth. This book is not an attempt to shame the Church, but to awaken her. For Such a Time as Now is a call to recognize the hour we are living in and to respond to it intentionally. Scripture makes it clear that God places people within specific generations with divine purpose. We are not here by accident. We are not witnesses to history, we are participants in it, and we have responsibilities and obligations. The call to be set apart has never been optional for God’s people, but it becomes more urgent as darkness increases. Holiness is not about superiority; it is about surrender. Obedience is not about perfection; it is about allegiance. This book is written for those who sense that something more is required in this hour: For those who refuse to settle for cultural Christianity For those who desire to live yielded, without compromise, and fully obedient lives before God—even when it costs comfort, acceptance, or ease in life. “My prayer is not that this book will merely be read, but that the response to it will be both action and purpose.” ~ Daryl Boyer **Table of Contents- "For Such a Time as Now" Chapter One (page 9) For Such a Time God’s timing · Responsibility · Urgency Chapter Two (page 27) A Church at the Brink Awakening · Drift · Conviction Chapter Three (page 41) The Fear of the Lord or Fear of Man Reverence · Courage · People-pleasing Chapter Four (page 52) Holy as He Is Holy Consecration · Separation · Devotion Chapter Five (page 66) Dead to Self Self-denial · Obedience · The cost of following Christ Chapter Six (page 79) Grace That Transforms Repentance · Change · True freedom Chapter Seven (page 92) Loving the World Without Becoming Like It Engagement · Discernment · Boundaries Chapter Eight (page 108) Cultural Christianity and the Loss of Power Shallow faith · Compromise · Authenticity Chapter Nine (page 127) False Gods in Modern Disguise Idolatry · Hidden loyalties · Surrender Chapter Ten (page 142) Alcohol, Substances, and the Spirit of Escape Bondage · Sobriety · Clarity Chapter Eleven (page 164) When Feelings Drive Us Emotionalism · Anxiety · Truth-led living Chapter Twelve (page 180) Renewing the Mind While Living in a Corrupted Society Thought life · Discernment · Resistance Chapter Thirteen (page 198) Created on Purpose Identity · Calling · Assignment Chapter Fourteen (page 218) When Anointing Exceeds Maturity Gifts · Character · Accountability Chapter Fifteen (page 237) Faithfulness in the Ordinary Places Servanthood · Obedience · Hidden faithfulness Chapter Sixteen (page 253) Ready and Watching Preparation · Discernment · Steadfastness Chapter Seventeen (page 262) The Last Days Church Endurance · Purity · Power Chapter Eighteen (page 277) For Such a Time as Now Holding the line · Finishing faithful
There are so many to cover... I feel like I could have a new conversation each day. We all could really. It's always changing and we are all constantly growing and being challenged. The key is to just keep chasing God and seeking what He wants before satisfying our own interests.
Great to see folks discussing my new book. I hope some of you will get a copy and read it... It is a powerful book that I believe will bless all who check it out. My goal with this book is to challenge people, not to harm or hurt anyone. Truth and pursuit of holiness are the most important thing in the end. I hope you will all check out the book. We have started to drift in some big ways from what God is asking of His Church... If we look so much like the world that we are indistinguishable, then we need a realignment. Glod Bless you all. ~Daryl Boyer
