TMZ has reported that legendary director Rob Reiner and his wife have died.
The outlet previously reported that two bodies were found in a home owned by Reiner Sunday afternoon.
Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer, suffered from “lacerations consistent with a knife,” sources told TMZ.
The LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division is investigating.
Reiner was the son of comedian Carl Reiner, who died in 2020.
The younger Reiner started as a writer in the 1960s. He was Steve Martin’s writing partner on the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour in 1968 and 1969.
He shot to fame as “Meathead” on “All in the Family” in the 1970s.
He won two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role on the show.
He then switched gears and started to direct movies such as “This is Spinal Tap,” “Stand By Me,” “The Princess Bride,” and “When Harry Met Sally.”
He met his wife while directing”When Harry Met Sally.” They were married in 1989.
He continued to direct such projects as “Misery,” “A Few Good Men,” “The American President,” “The Bucket List” and “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues.”
