Former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines spoke out about the claim those fighting to protect women’s sports only care if a biological man wins.

On Monday, Gaines, 23, responded to a post made by a user on X, formerly known as Twitter, addressing the claim that those who are against biological men competing in women’s sports “only care about keeping trans (i.e. male) athletes out of women’s sports when they win.”

“Wrong. We always care,” the user stated.

“Molly Cameron & Lesley (Wesley) Mumford finished midpack at SBT GRVL last weekend. But they should have finished midpack in the men’s category, not the women’s,” they alleged, referring to the world-class gravel race event.

Wrong. We always care.

Gaines agreed with the user, adding, “It doesn’t matter if a male wins or get last place in the women’s category. They’re still taking spots, opportunities, and recognition from women.”

“No girl should have to compare themselves physically to a male. Males competing against women will never be a lateral movement,” the swim champ continued.

Another user on X also responded to the post, stating, “Trans-identifying men who Larp as women and infiltrate single-sex spaces steal not just results and prize money–they steal sporting EXPERIENCES.”

Trans-identifying men who Larp as women and infiltrate single-sex spaces steal not just results and prize money–they steal sporting EXPERIENCES. This is loathsome.
It's dastardly. It's condemnable. And anyone who facilitates it is properly evil. #savewomenssports #sexnotgender https://t.co/pKbHgX3UbF

Furthermore, the user called the advantage “loathsome.”

“It’s dastardly. It’s condemnable. And anyone who facilitates it is properly evil,” they concluded, urging for women’s sports to be saved.

Olympic Medalist Sharron Davies chimed in on Gaines’ tweet, declaring, “There are 2sexes (sic).”

“One of each is needed for humans to reproduce. A small gamete or a large gamete,” she continued, adding, “this effects our physiology massively.”

Biology is real & exists. In reality we all know this. There are 2sexes, one of each is needed for humans to reproduce. A small gamete or a large gamete. This effects our physiology massively. Anyone that says otherwise is either delusional or lying. Lies get found out eventually

Davies continued, “Anyone that says otherwise is either delusional or lying. Lies get found out eventually.”

This came after former Boston Celtics player Enes Kanter Freedom, 31, credited Gaines for inspiring him to speak out against transgender inclusion in women’s sports.

“I actually met Riley Gaines last year at the State of the Union. She’s a very brave woman and I think what she’s doing is amazing,” he told Fox News Digital in an interview.

Freedom added, “She is one of the biggest voices in women’s sports. She was actually one of the athletes that inspired me.”
