Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is mocking former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin after she accused her of being a “fake feminist.”
During an appearance on Fox News on Wednesday night, Palin ripped Ocasio-Cortez for comments she made about Texas’ new abortion law.
“She is such a fake feminist that she would bring up an issue like this and try to use it to make some political point,” Palin said. “Don’t even get me started on this. It just makes my stomach sick what she has done. She should be embarrassed.”
Palin added, “She’s milking the whole female thing, and as a real feminist, I’m embarrassed for her.”

On Thursday, Ocasio-Cortez responded in a tweet, “I’m so sorry Sarah Palin is mad at me! In fact, to address this I set up a special hotline just for her.”
She also shared a video in response to a comment from someone on Instagram where she said, “Does my existence make you mad? Does the fact that yes, I am a mouthpiece for the people of New York’s 14th Congressional District upset you? Well, I have help for you, call 1-800-CRY-NOW.”

She added, “In fact, we also set up a corresponding website – proceeds go to abortion and reproductive health providers in Texas.”
The progressive star said she had raised “over $250,000 to Texas grassroots pro-choice organizers and healthcare providers so far.”
On Tuesday, Ocasio-Cortez reacted to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R) response to a question about the state’s new abortion law and its lack of an exception for cases of rape or incest.
“It provides at least six weeks for a person to be able to get an abortion,” Abbott responded. “That said, however, let’s make something very clear. Rape is a crime, and Texas will work tirelessly to make sure that we eliminate all rapists from the streets of Texas by aggressively going out and arresting them and prosecuting them and getting them off the streets.”
Ocasio-Cortez said, “I don’t know if he is familiar with a menstruating person’s body. In fact, I do know that he’s not familiar with a female, or menstruating person’s body.”
“Because if he did, he would know that you don’t have six weeks. … Six weeks pregnant means two weeks late for your period. And two weeks late on your period for any person with a menstrual cycle can happen if you’re stressed, if your diet changes, or for really, no reason at all. So you don’t have six weeks,” she added.
On Wednesday, the New York Congresswoman responded to conservatives’ mocking of her comments as she said, “Not just women! Trans men & non-binary people can also menstruate.”
“GOP mad at this are protecting the patriarchal idea that women are most valuable as uterus holders,” she added.
