Former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci is joining the Lincoln Project, a Republican-aligned group, in its efforts to remove President Donald Trump from office in November.
Scaramucci told Bloomberg News he is assisting the group with fundraising and is adamant Trump needs to be defeated in this year’s election.
“He has a chance here to really get humiliated, which I hope he will. The economy’s in shambles as a direct result of his decision making and the politicization of a health care crisis,” Scaramucci said.
He added, “And so for all those reasons, he’s obviously incompetent and so we’ve got to seek his removal.”
Scaramucci said while some Republicans are considered “Never Trumpers,” he views himself as a “Had Enough of Trumper.”
According to Scaramucci, a Biden victory “will be the end of Trumpism. It’s a personality cult.”
This is not the first time Scaramucci has criticized the president.
In January, Scaramucci questioned Trump’s mental health after he stumbled over his words at a rally, as IJR previously reported.
Trump has attacked 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s mental status, as IJR previously reported.
He called on Biden to take a cognitive test and “give it a try.”
Biden continues to gain momentum garnering endorsements and support.
According to The New York Times/Siena College survey, Biden is receiving more support in battleground states where his campaign previously lagged.
Trump has received harsh criticism from Biden over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
Biden recognized Trump’s recent efforts to wear a mask in public, but suggested he needs to do more than just that.
Biden said he is glad Trump “made the shift” but believes it is still “not enough.”
In a speech in Delaware, Biden reiterated his criticism of Trump and argued he “has surrendered” and “waved the white flag and left the battlefield.”
