The Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board confirmed to SOOToday.com that Cathy DiFilippo Kiley, a payroll administrator, is no longer employed following what it described as an internal process. The decision came days after the video spread widely online. A March 15 post on X from LibsofTikTok drew more than 1.4 million views and highlighted her comment that “karma’s a bitch.”
In the video, DiFilippo Kiley said she didn’t think Trump’s death should come from natural causes, but instead in a public and violent way.
“I don’t think that this should be a health event; that’s not tragic enough,” she said. “I think it should be an infliction, like he has done to others in the United States and around the world. From a distance. Publicly.”
She went on to say that she believed many people would celebrate such an outcome and added that she would be among them.

Should Cathy DiFilippo Kiley have been fired for her comments about Trump?
The remarks drew backlash, especially given that Trump survived an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July 2024. During that incident, a gunman fired multiple shots from a nearby rooftop, grazing Trump’s ear and killing a member of the crowd. The shooting unfolded live during broadcast coverage.
In a statement to SOOToday.com, DiFilippo Kiley said she regretted her comments.
“All I can really say is that I truly feel terrible about everything,” she said. “I deeply regret what I said, and I meant no harm or threat to anybody. That is not who I am.”
She added that she would never want to encourage violence and apologized to those who were offended.
Trump was also the target of another attempted attack in September 2024, when a Secret Service agent shot a man who had been waiting near a golf course in Palm Beach.
