SiriusXM’s Megyn Kelly called out Democratic senators Wednesday during her show who were at Health and Human Services (HHS) nominee Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s hearing, saying they were making “fools of themselves.”
Kennedy appeared before the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday morning to discuss issues affecting both sides of the aisle, with some Democratic senators notably yelling at Kennedy during their questioning. On “The Megyn Kelly Show,” the SiriusXM host said the Democratic lawmakers didn’t understand the “message” Kennedy supporters have been sending.
“His opponents didn’t get it. Even some of the Republicans didn’t get it. But for the most part, they did well, the Republican senators. A couple, which I’ll go over, were annoying,” Kelly said. “But the Democrats once again made fools out of themselves. They made fools out of themselves. In the same way they keep looking at Trump and saying, ‘Hitler, Nazi, fascist, convicted felon.’ And everybody’s like, ‘Screw you, we have a country to save.’ That’s how I felt today watching them go after RFK [Jr.].”
“They don’t get it. That audience was filled with parents, moms with infants, with little kids with them, trying to send a message to these senators. They’re done playing these ridiculous games. Half these senators are on the take with Big Pharma, or Big Ag for that matter, and doing Big Pharma’s bidding live in the hearing. They don’t want RFK J[r.]. They don’t want somebody who’s been suing Big Pharma his entire career,” Kelly added. “That’s who pays their re-election bills. It was very obvious as you watch them today.”

During his hearing, Kennedy had a heated exchange with Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren after she accused him of wanting to profit from banning vaccines.
Warren asked Kennedy whether he would accept any profit from lawsuits against drug companies. While Kennedy vowed not to accept profit during his potential time as HHS secretary, he did not commit to after, prompting Warren to rant against him.
Kelly went on to say the lawmakers were “smearing him,” adding they didn’t attack his personal life but instead focused on his stance on vaccines.
“But they, man, are obsessed with his stance on vaccines. Obsessed. And, like, either unwilling or unable to see what he really feels about them. I mean, look, he’s not a huge proponent. I think that’s fair. But they just want to paint him as somebody who wants to ban all vaccines,” Kelly said.
“He doesn’t talk about banning at all,” Kelly added. “He’s very against vaccine mandates. In some cases, he wants more research being done before we push these vaccines on kids and has joined as a lawyer in some lawsuits against the manufacturers.”
In November, Kennedy told NBC News that he would not be taking away vaccines if confirmed as HHS secretary. He instead said he wanted Americans to have the choice to decide what products were good for them. During his confirmation hearing, Kennedy repeatedly said he supports vaccines. He said they “play a critical role in healthcare.”
