Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) avoided answering the question of whether she wanted to see President Joe Biden run for a second term in the White House.
Mark Maxwell, the political editor for KSDKNews, posted a clip of his exchange with Bush where she seemed eager to rush away after she was asked about Biden’s potential second term.
Bush’s comments came during an interview at her campaign headquarters Monday morning ahead of next Tuesday’s primary against moderate Democratic state Sen. Steve Roberts, according to KSDKNews.
The lawmaker didn’t appear confident in her own ability to respond when Maxwell asked, “Do you want to see Joe Biden run for a second term?”
As soon as the question was asked, someone Maxwell identified as an aide interjected, “She’s got to go,” before Bush haltingly answered that she didn’t want to answer.

An aide interjects.
“I don’t want to answer that question,” she says, adding, “He’s the President. He has the right to run for a second term.”

“I don’t want to answer that question because we have not – that’s not – yeah, I don’t want to answer that question,” Bush responded. “I mean, he’s the president, he has the right to run for a second term, absolutely.”
While the Missouri Democrat did say she believed it was Biden’s “right to run for a second term,” she was clear that she would not commit to whether she wanted him to run again.
Bush stammered, “I don’t want to – I’d rather you not do that answer and question,” leading an aide to again insist that she needed to leave.
The incumbent’s Democrat opponent, Roberts is a veteran of the Missouri Air National Guard and has accused Bush of being too far left, according to KSDK.
“I support the president. Full stop,” Roberts told KDSK. “I’m curious to know who Rep. Bush intends on supporting.”

Bush’s lack of confidence in her party leader comes several months after news broke that a senior adviser for Biden, Cedrick Richmond, reportedly made negative comments about some of the “Squad” members, as IJR previously reported.
Richmond reportedly spoke out against what some believed could be a party mutiny, calling members of the liberal group, “f***ing idiots” to a friend.
