While the sudden exit alarmed fans, longtime followers were quick to note that Minaj has periodically deactivated her Instagram in the past, including as recently as October.

In the clip, Kirk is seen debating a college student and questioning whether Minaj and fellow rapper Cardi B were positive role models for “18-year-old Black girls.”

In the brief statement, Kirk emphasized that both sides have agreed to step back from public engagement until that meeting has taken place. 

“It is a positively ABSURD notion that you cannot critique a 150 million dollar organization because the CEO says they are like a family, and are grieving."

Charlie Kirk had originally been scheduled to appear at the summit before his assassination.
