As the Eras Tour crept toward its final curtain, Taylor Swift found herself overwhelmed by the weight of it all — and she admits she didn’t handle the moment as gracefully as she hoped.

According to Page Six, in the fifth episode of Disney+’s docuseries The End of an Era, released Tuesday, Swift looks back on an emotional breakdown during one of the final Canadian stops of her record-shattering tour.

The episode centers on “Marjorie,” her deeply personal song honoring her late grandmother, and the emotional toll it took as the tour neared its end.

After performing the song in Toronto, Swift attempted to address the roaring crowd but quickly became choked up.

“We’re at very end of this tour and you doing that [cheering] — you have no idea how much it means to me and to …” she said before trailing off.

Struggling to regain her composure, she added, “I don’t even know what I’m saying anymore, I’m just having a bit of a moment, sorry.”

Unable to continue, Swift walked offstage after telling fans, “I love you guys so much!”

Behind the scenes, cameras captured the singer immediately embracing her mother, Andrea Swift, and her brother, Austin Swift. Later, while riding in the car, Austin remarked that the show “was insane,” prompting Swift to cringe at her own vulnerability.

“That was fun. Ugh, I got emotional. I felt like a dumbass,” she said. “I couldn’t put words together, Austin, it was kind of embarrassing.”

Austin reassured her, calling the moment “the best part of the whole thing,” to which Swift replied, “That was very nice of you to say, you’re a very supportive person.”

Swift later explained what triggered the emotional flood. Earlier that night, longtime backup singer Kamilah Marshall had spoken about losing her mother and how she never got to see the Eras Tour.

“She was talking about how her mom died recently,” Swift recalled, “and she was just saying how heartbroken she is that her mom never got to see the Eras Tour.”

The reflection hit close to home.

“The fact that mom did get to see it and like Travis [Kelce] got to see it and dad [Scott Swift] got to see it,” Swift said, “I just felt so lucky and it cracked me. It cracked me wide open.”

Andrea later reassured her over the phone, saying, “I think you have every right to feel emotional because it has to be hitting you, honey, that this has been the dream tour of your life.”

Swift agreed, admitting, “I just never thought we’d ever do something this good.”

The episode also highlights how “Marjorie” has become a shared moment of reflection for fans and performers alike, turning grief into tribute night after night.

All six episodes of The End of an Era are now streaming on Disney+.
