Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) suggested Democrats revealed the “utter hypocrisy” of their party with their response to immigrants arriving in their cities.
“The mayor of D.C., Muriel Bowser, has said that the 6,000 illegal immigrants that Texas has put on buses and sent up to D.C. has created a crisis and it is unacceptable and has to stop. Now, that is just 6,000,” Cruz said on an episode of his podcast.
He argued that “we ought to send 600,000, 600,000 would be roughly one-sixth of the number of illegal immigrants who have come in under Joe Biden.”
Cruz suggested if Bowser “doesn’t like it, she is a member of the Democrat Party. The person responsible for these 3.5 million lives in her city.”
Moving on to New York City Mayor Eric Adams, Cruz claimed he is “even funnier.”
The senator noted he threatened to send busloads of New Yorkers to Texas to campaign against Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.
“I have to admit that I had some great joy responding and said, ‘Well, actually, to be fair, there are already thousands of busloads of New Yorkers fleeing New York and coming to Texas, and Eric Adams is driving them away,’” Cruz said.

Shouldn't just stop with sending illegal aliens to DC!

Send them to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, so Biden sees them or to Martha’s Vineyard & Cupertino. Every place rich liberals swirl Chardonnay.

Later in the episode, Cruz advocated for sending immigrants to places where the rich vacation.
“Every place that rich liberals sit and swirl Chardonnay. They ought to sit there and watch busload after busload after busload of illegal immigrants unloading,” Cruz said.
He continued, “It reveals the utter hypocrisy of the Left. They’re willing to cause human suffering as long as it doesn’t impinge on the view from their golf course.”
Earlier this month, Abbott penned a letter to Bowser and Adams inviting them to the Texas border.
“As Governor, I invite you to visit our border region to see firsthand the dire situation that only grows more urgent with each passing day, and to meet with the local officials, who like yourselves, realize this matter deserves immediate federal action,” Abbott wrote.
Bowser later asked the National Guard for help with the crisis.
“We need help from our federal partners as we seek to stabilize and manage our operating environment in this critical moment,” she wrote to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
CNN reported on Sunday that at least 140 asylum seekers arrived in New York City from Texas.
