Trump Says the 25th Amendment Poses ‘Zero Risk To Me’

President Donald Trump does not appear to be concerned that Vice President Mike Pence will invoke the 25th Amendment and work with the Cabinet to remove him from office.

In remarks made during a trip to the southern border on Tuesday, Trump said, “Free speech is under assault like never before. The 25th Amendment is of zero risk to me.”

“But it will come back to haunt Joe Biden and the Biden administration. As the expression goes, ‘Be careful what you wish for,'” he added.

Additionally, he slammed House Democrats’ latest push to impeach him, which he called a “continuation of the greatest and most vicious witch hunt in the history of our country.”

“And [it] is causing tremendous anger and division and pain, far greater than most people will ever understand, which is very dangerous for the USA, especially at this very tender time,” he said.

Trump’s comments come almost a week after hundreds of pro-Trump rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol, interrupting Congressional proceedings and leaving five people dead.

After the violence at the Capitol, Democrats accused the president of inciting rioters. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has called on Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office.

Democratic lawmakers are pushing for legislation that would urge Pence and the Cabinet to declare Trump unfit for office and remove him. However, the vice president does not appear likely to take such action.

House Democrats are expected to vote on an article of impeachment accusing the president of “incitement of insurrection” on Wednesday. However, there are doubts that Congress will impeach and convict Trump before January 20, when he is slated to leave office.

Trump called the 2019 impeachment effort the “greatest witch hunt in American history.”

  1. There is an interesting take on the sedition that just happened that might interest you too, Phyllis.

The events could legitimately be described as a physical manifestation of this nation’s mental health crisis.

The basis for it happening can’t be blamed on just the major economic strife and inequality that we have been dealing with for decades even including things that have happened well before the 2008-9 crisis that we still live with. But I think it is fair to say that with everyone from CEOs who flew in on their private jets, to the ex-military, to the white nationalistsxand racists, to the Q-Anon worshipers, to the “average joe” who follow a cult leader who led them to believe that they could overturn a legitimate election, that attended whatever you call what just happened, there were a lot of mentally ill people there.

  2. King Donald The Loser is confused.

Amendment 14, Sec. 3 IS a real danger to you. Only a simple majority and a Democratic backbone is needed to lay THAT one on you.

    1. You and “John” appear to be the only two people who ever comment on this site. Are you two in a…relationship?

      1. And what kind of a difference would it make to you if we were?

Are you really thinking that this is a smart way to attack us? Really?
