President Donald Trump commented on the recent spate of Tesla vehicles being vandalized while speaking in the Oval Office Friday and called the vandals “terrorists.”
Trump told reporters that the vandalism of Tesla showrooms is in stark contrast to the events that unfolded on Capitol Hill on Jan. 6, 2021, when supporters protested former President Joe Biden’s ascent to the White House.
“I view these people as terrorists, just like other do so. When I looked at those showrooms burning, and those cars, not one or two, but seven, eight, ten, burning, exploding all over the place,” Trump said. “These are terrorists, you didn’t have that on January 6th, I can tell you, you didn’t have anything like that on January 6th which is sort of amazing because on January 6 the Democrats were talking, nobody was killed other than a very beautiful young woman, Ashley Babbitt.”
Trump said the vandalism looks like it has been well organized and noted that those financing as well as the perpetrators are being investigated.
“You look at what’s going on now with these terrorists, these are terrorists, and that’s an organized event, you know, take a look at their signs, take a look, they’re all made by the same sign company, a nice expensive job,” Trump said. “No, these are, the people who finance it are in my opinion, just as big a trouble as people setting the match and setting the fires. So, we’ll see, it’s under very serious investigation by the FBI and by the Justice Department.”

Trump also took to Truth Social to share his anger at the recent attacks, saying those responsible should be sent to El Salvador.
“I look forward to watching the sick terrorist thugs get 20-year jail sentences for what they are doing to Elon Musk and Tesla,” Trump said. “Perhaps they could serve them in the prisons of El Salvador, which have become so recently famous for such lovely conditions!”
