Trump Names Judge Amy Coney Barrett as His Pick to Replace Ginsburg on the Supreme Court

President Donald Trump says he is nominating Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court to fill the vacancy that opened up in the wake of the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
During an event in Rose Garden at the White House on Saturday, Trump said, “Today it is my honor to nominate one of our nation’s most brilliant and gifted legal minds to the Supreme Court.”
“She is a woman of unparalleled achievement, towering intellect, sterling credentials, and unyielding loyalty to the Constitution, Judge Amy Coney Barrett,” he added.
Barrett was confirmed to the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago in 2017.
Trump continued, “I further urge all members of the other side of the aisle to provide Judge Barrett with the respectful and dignified hearing that she deserves and frankly that our country deserves.”
The president said Barrett would “decide cases based on the text of the constitution as written” as a Supreme Court justice.
“I urge lawmakers and members of the media to refrain from personal or partisan attacks,” he added.

Barrett said, “I love the United States, and I love the United States Constitution. I’m truly humbled at the prospect of serving on the Supreme Court.”
“If confirmed, I would not assume the role for the sake in my own circle or certainly not for my own sake. I would assume the role to serve you. I would discharge the judicial oath which requires me to administer justice without respect to persons,” she added.
Her nomination comes just over a week after Ginsburg’s death.
Trump previously announced his intention to nominate a woman to fill the vacancy. He has also stated that he would like the Senate to confirm his nominee before the election.
If confirmed, Barrett would give the court a 6-3 conservative majority that could shape the balance of power for years.
Thanks for playing your game, Lying Paul The Emeffer.
Pinhead its too bad you can’t understand even the simplest use of the English language. Its to be expected though.
Oh, I am sorry, Lying Paul The Emeffer. I forgot that you skipped all of your English composition classes. I apologize for taxing your brain so much about what YOU YOURSELF wrote. 😀
Pinhead prove what? Phyllis’ suppositions? This ranks very high in one of your dumbest comments yet. But it is proof that I am in your minuscule head.
“Phyllis you suppose to much.” Lying Paul The Emeffer
Prove it, Lying Paul The Emeffer.
Phyllis you suppose to much.
Like me, Paul is probably on Medicare and buys a supplemental plan—the plan cost will rise but we can afford the increase. Like me, Paul will NOT need to consider the option of traveling to a state with safe abortion procedures or go with a “back alley” unsafe option in states with laws based on religion, not the Constitution. Like me, Paul is probably retired and need not concern himself with rights of employees. BUT like me, Paul is probably a CONSUMER. A 7-3 court means corporations will be free to screw the consumers and there will be cheering across the country with the power given to corporation CEO’s to put their bonus over the health and welfare of the customer. Often when you wish to take away the rights of others, it comes with consequences to your own rights and well-being.
Great pick!

As if HE would be able to refrain from personal attacks.
“I would not assume the role for the sake in my own circle or certainly not for my own sake. I would assume the role to serve you.” Amy Barrett
Sure you will. That is not why you were picked, though. You were chosen BECAUSE of your distorted views.
