President Donald Trump rarely, if ever, has good words for CNN.
But on Tuesday morning, the president took to Twitter to praise the network for covering the Republican National Convention, “Very appreciative that @CNN covered the vast majority of the Republican Convention last night.”
He added, “That was really good for CNN, while at the same time being good for our Country. Thank you!”

Notably, Trump did not send a similar tweet about Fox News — which he has been more willing to attack in recent days.
During the first night of the convention, some observers on Twitter noted that Fox News broke away from coverage of the event while other networks, including CNN and MSNBC, stayed on the convention.
Fox News cut away from Charlie Kirk's speech to interview Sen. John Kennedy. They've now gone to break.

While Trump expressed his appreciation for the network’s coverage, CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale had some harsh words for the convention, which he said featured a “parade of dishonesty.”
“We had false claims and misleading claims and major strategic omissions on the coronavirus and other matters,” he added.
Last week, Trump blasted Fox News during a campaign event, “Fox, you know Fox now puts on more Democrats just about than they do Republicans. They have certainly changed a lot. Fox has changed a lot. They’re probably turning off right now, as I speak but, see, I don’t care. I tell the truth.”
He continued, “One of the biggest differences between this year and four years ago, is Fox — Fox is like from a different planet. And too bad.”
Trump also predicted that if Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden wins the election, the networks would go “down the tubes.”
“They’ll all be bust, they’ll all be gone. I can tell you that. Nobody’s gonna wanna cover sleepy Joe. We’ll end up with one very boring socialist Country that’ll go to Hell,” he said.
