It is still an open question as to when President Donald Trump last tested negative for COVID-19 before he received a positive test result.

As he left for a campaign event in Arizona on Monday, a reporter asked Trump if he would authorize his doctor to share when he received his last negative test, prior to testing positive.”

“Is that very important to you?” Trump asked. “You seem to be so intent. But if it’s so important to you … why is it so important to you?”

The reporter responded that the information would provide more details about how the White House has been handling the COVID-19 outbreak and how seriously it has been taking safety precautions around the virus.

“I know, but why?” Trump asked.

He continued snarkily, “But why is it so important to you?”

As the reporter continued to try to explain her question, Trump interjected, “Look at the dedication.”

During a town hall event with NBC News on Thursday, Trump was asked if he could recall when he received his last negative coronavirus test. He responded by saying that he is tested “quite a bit.”

When asked if he was tested the day of the first presidential debate, he said, “I don’t know, I don’t even remember. I test all the time.”

“I probably did…Possibly I did, possibly I didn’t,” he later said.

Trump announced early on Oct. 2 that he tested positive for COVID-19. But since he recovered, he said he feels “so powerful” and has returned to the campaign with an aggressive schedule.

On Monday, he said he will start holding three campaign events a day.
