President-elect Donald Trump will be wasting no time after it was revealed there are at least 100 executive orders ready to be signed once he is inaugurated in less than two weeks’ time.
According to a report from Axios, Trump and his top advisers previewed the long list of executive orders to Senate Republicans on Wednesday night, which includes reinstating Title 42 – a COVID pandemic-era policy that allowed U.S. Border Patrol to deny entry and expel illegal migrants at the border. The policy was nixed by the Biden administration in 2023.
Trump’s political adviser and incoming White House chief of staff, Stephen Miller, reportedly detailed how the administration plans on using executive orders to address the influx of illegal migrants and secure the border as early as day one, including using the Immigration and Nationality Act to allow state and local law enforcement to assist ICE.
Furthermore, building “soft-sided” facilities to house migrants, while implementing tighter restrictions on asylum seekers was reportedly discussed, as well as continuing the construction of the border wall on the southern border is also on the agenda.
Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.), who was at the Senate meeting with Trump, said during an interview with “Fox & Friends,” the president just wants results.
“What the president was very clear on is he just wants results … He also talked about his executive orders, he says he has almost 100 executive orders that will go a long way to secure the border again and also put the energy sector back in play … where we become energy independent again … All that can be done through executive order,” Mullin said, adding, however, that executive orders are not permanent, and legislation needs to be put in place.

During an interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo in December, Miller said incoming Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.), and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), have both promised to get a comprehensive funding package for the border approved.
Miller detailed how this would mean an increase in ICE officers, and historic increases in border agents, with an increase in wages for both. Miller further noted military operations, ICE beds, air and marine operations, along with barriers and technology used to secure the border, will also be fully funded.
“President Trump, regardless, is going to issue a series of executive orders that seal the border shut and begin the largest deportation operation in American history,” Miller said.
