Former President Donald Trump has gone on record saying he will debate his new Democratic opponent for president — Vice President Kamala Harris.
Trump added Tuesday he would be “willing” to debate Harris more than once, Politico reported.
The next scheduled debate is set to take place Sept. 10.
ABC News will host the debate, something that does not sit well with Trump. Recently, Trump has touted the more conservative Fox News as the debate host, calling ABC “a joke.”
However, when on a call with reporters Tuesday afternoon, Trump said he would debate Harris, even if it was on ABC.
He added he “would be willing to do more than one debate actually.”
While Trump said he was “not thrilled with ABC,” he said “debating is important for a presidential race.”
“I think if you’re the Democrat nominee or the Republican nominee, you really have an obligation to debate,” Trump said.
The Harris campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
In May, Trump and Biden agreed to two debates. The first one, hosted by CNN, was held June 27.
Biden’s poor performance led Democrats to plead for him to drop out of the race, which he ultimately did on Sunday.
