Former President Donald Trump suggested large protests will break out across the country if prosecutors investigating him “do anything wrong or illegal.”
During a rally in Texas over the weekend, Trump called the prosecutors “vicious, horrible people.”
He continued, “They’re racist, and they’re very sick, they’re mentally sick. They’re going after me without any protection of my rights by the Supreme Court or most other courts.”
Trump argued the prosecutors are after his supporters, adding, “I just happen to be the person that’s in the way.”
He went on, “If these radical, vicious racist prosecutors do anything wrong or illegal, I hope we are going to have in this country the biggest protest we have ever had, in Washington, D.C, in New York, in Atlanta and elsewhere because our country and our elections are corrupt.”

Earlier this month, New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) said the investigation into the Trump Organization suggests the former president’s company “used fraudulent and misleading asset valuations,” as IJR reported.
She said in a statement, “We are taking legal action to force Donald Trump, Donald Trump, Jr., and Ivanka Trump to comply with our investigation into the Trump Organization’s financial dealings. No one in this country can pick and choose if and how the law applies to them.”
James added, “We have uncovered significant evidence indicating that the Trump Organization used fraudulent and misleading asset valuations on multiple properties to obtain economic benefits, including loans, insurance coverage, and tax deductions for years.”
During his rally, the former president also commented on the possibility of pardoning January 6 rioters if he returns to the White House, as IJR reported.
“If I run and I win, we will treat those people from January 6th fairly. We will treat them fairly,” Trump said.
He added, “And if it requires pardons, we will give them pardons because they are being treated so unfairly. This hasn’t happened to all of the other atrocities that took place recently. Nothing like this has happened. What that unselect committee is doing and what the people are doing that are running those prisons, it’s a disgrace.”
