Legendary actress Betty White may be gone, but she is not forgotten.
And if the U.S. Postal Service has anything to say about it, she will be remembered “forever.”
The U.S. Postal Service will honor White with a new stamp commemorating the late actress and comedian’s “warmth, wit and charisma,” according to a press release.
ABC News reported new stamp features White in a purple polka-dotted blouse with a violet-colored background. Her name is printed in white text and “FOREVER USA” is printed below her name in violet text.
The Forever stamp will be sold in groups of 20 and will never expire.
They are valued equal to the price of 1-ounce First-Class Mail. This is currently $0.73.
White — known as the “First Lady of Television” — spent many decades on radio programs, movies and TV shows.
Her career spanned 75 years during which she honored with eight Emmys, three SAG Awards, one Grammy and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
She was also a staunch advocate for animals.
In 2011, she published a book — “Betty & Friends: My Life at the Zoo.” showcasing her lifelong love of animals.
She died of natural causes on Dec. 31, 2021. She was 99.
The Postal Service will hold an event on March 27 to unveil the new stamp at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
White was a trustee, benefactor and volunteer there.
