Authorities have detained a man after he allegedly crashed a van through a barricade near the White House.
The incident happened Wednesday morning, Mediaite reported.
Officers were dispatched at around 6:37 a.m. to aid Secret Service agents after a van drove through a security barricade near the White House, per the Metropolitan Police Department.
Should additional security measures be implemented near the White House after the recent van incident?
No injuries were reported.
A similar incident happened in October, when a man was arrested for crashing his vehicle into a White House security barrier.
The crash led to a White House lockdown and a response from the bomb squad. Ultimately the area was deemed safe.
