The co-hosts of ABC’s “The View” are raising some questions surrounding the timing of the revelation President Joe Biden had classified documents in his possession from his time as vice president.
During a segment of the show Thursday, Joy Behar declared, “I’ve never seen a luckier person than Donald Trump.”
“Just as we’re this close to getting him, somehow, these documents appear!” she added.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin said Biden was “wrong to have done this.”
Whoopi Goldberg then urged her fellow panelists to hold off on judgment until all the facts are known.
She added, “Someone explain to me how it’s possible after all this time nobody knew … Cause to me, if you’re missing classified information — I don’t mean to laugh — but in my house, if stuff is missing, I know it’s missing.”
“Does it feel like [opposition] research to you? Does it feel like the Republicans are behind it?” Sunny Hostin interjected to ask.
Goldberg stated it initially felt as though Republicans were behind the revelation.
However, she said it no longer feels like that is the case, as she noted one idea is the documents were mistakenly transported during the presidential transition after the 2016 election.

On Thursday, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced he appointed a special counsel to investigate Biden’s handling of classified documents.
This week’s revelation was probably not a welcome development for those hoping former President Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents would hamper his political future.
Still, questions about the timing of the discovery of the documents are legitimate.
Biden left office in 2017. Why did it take so many years for the documents to be discovered? Why were they only found less than a week before the midterm election? And why was the public kept in the dark about the documents for two months after their discovery in November?
But to suggest Republican operatives infiltrated Biden’s office or his home to plant classified documents is laughably implausible.
And claiming the discovery of the material is the result of opposition research does not negate the fact classified documents were mishandled and sitting in a garage — possibly for years.
