A guest on “The View” called out Vice President Kamala Harris for voicing some skepticism about the COVID-19 vaccines during a 2020 debate.

During a segment on Tuesday, the panel discussed Harris’ decision not to wear a mask in public after being considered a close contact of her communications director, who tested positive for the virus.

Co-host Joy Behar chimed in, “The Republican Party, in my opinion, and Donald Trump poisoned the well from the beginning, refused to listen to the science.”

“And so a lot of people, probably maybe in the millions, still never have gotten vaccinated. And that’s where this all started. So you can blame the Rose Garden, or you can blame Nancy Pelosi, but she didn’t start this war,” she added.

However, guest Alyssa Farah Griffin — a former Trump administration official — interjected to note that she has been an outspoken advocate of getting vaccinated and boosted.

“But I will say this, there were some things that were said by Democrats early on that politicized the virus,” she added.

Behar said, “Like what? Like what? Give me an example.”

Griffin responded, “It is a fact that Vice President Harris said…Vice President Harris said, in the VP debate…”

“What?” co-host Sunny Hostin interjected. “You were part of the administration that politicized the virus.”

Griffin said, “I take responsibility. Donald Trump politicized the hell out of this virus. But Vice President Kamala Harris, in the vice presidential debate, said if Dr. Fauci says I should get it, I will, but I’m not getting a Trump vaccine. That’s dangerous.”

However, Hostin argued, “That was way after this vaccine was politicized by your boss.”

During the 2020 vice presidential debate, Harris said, “If Dr. Fauci, the doctors, tell us that we should take it, I’ll be the first in line to take it.”

She added, “But if Donald Trump tells us we should take it, I’m not going to take it.”

Griffin later shared a video of the exchange and Harris’ quote.

My point is this: both sides politicized the hell out of COVID. The American people see it and are sick of it and have lost trust in the public because it. It’s incumbent on us who were in the inside to admit it and learn from it
