Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s Saturday afternoon was rough.
First, Minnesota fell to Michigan, 27-24, in Ann Arbor where Walz took in the football game from a suite alongside former U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke, Fox News reported.
Then, as Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate was leaving the Big House, fans did not react kindly.
He was booed and one fan taunted, “Get out of here.”
He was also booed as his motorcade arrived.
Things were more hopeful before the game as Walz posted on X, formerly Twitter, “A little rain can’t keep us from the big Michigan-Minnesota game! And it’s not gonna stop these students from making sure that everyone on their campus is registered to vote.”
Another post on X showed Walz’s response when asked, if he was “excited for Michigan to beat Minnesota today.”
Walz laughed and responded, “I’m excited to be at the Big House. I’m excited to watch this incredible game. I’m more excited to see young people being excited about their future.”
Walz and his wife also went on the field to greet Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck.
