President Joe Biden did not give a concrete answer on whether he will make another run for the White House in 2024.

During an interview with “60 Minutes,” host Scott Pelley asked Biden, “Are you committed to running again or are there certain conditions that have to be right?”

The president replied, “Look, if I were to say to you, I’m running again, all of a sudden, a whole range of things come into play that I have, requirements I have to change and move and do.”

Pelley responded, “In terms of election laws.”

Biden explained, “In terms of election laws. And it’s much too early to make that kind of decision. I’m a great respecter of fate. And so, what I’m doing is I’m doing my job. I’m gonna do that job.”

He continued, “And within the timeframe that makes sense after this next election cycle here, going into next year, make a judgment on what to do.”

Pelley said, “You say that it’s much too early to make that decision. I take it the decision has not been made in your own head?”

Biden answered, “Look, my intention as I said to begin with is that I would run again. But it’s just an intention. But is it a firm decision that I run again? That remains to be seen.”

Last week, NBC News reported Biden’s top aides have been establishing a campaign effort for 2024 quietly.

People familiar with the planning told the outlet the current plan for the effort is to “rely heavily on the resources of the Democratic National Committee and only have a small campaign staff, a cost-saving configuration that follows the model of then-President Bill Clinton’s re-election bid and dramatically differs from then-President Barack Obama’s campaign.”

Additionally, Biden and his advisors are “using the homestretch to November’s midterm elections to test possible 2024 themes,” as NBC News reported.

Cedric Richmond, a top Biden adviser, explained, “He’s running and we’re building an infrastructure for him to run and win.”

He added, “Right now, it’s all an early investment in 2024 while we’re helping 2022.”
