Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and co-host of “The View” Whoopi Goldberg clashed after she appeared to bring up the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Cruz made an appearance on an episode of the show Monday during which Goldberg went off on Republicans and how they react when they lose elections.
“We may not like when Republicans win, but we don’t go and we don’t storm,” Goldberg said, appearing to refer to the Capitol riot.
Cruz interjected, “Did I miss an entire year of Antifa riots where cities across this country were burning?”
Goldberg fired back, “I don’t know what an Antifa riot is.”
The senator asked, “Your position is the left doesn’t engage in violence? Really?”

Another notable moment of Cruz’s appearance was when protesters began chanting about the climate.
While attempting to answer a question about the economy, protesters began to shout, “Vote for climate now!”
Cruz chose to ignore them and attempted to answer the question.
Goldberg shouted back at the audience, “Excuse us, let us do our jobs. We hear what you have to say, but you have to go.”
Co-host Sunny Hostin chimed in, saying, “They’re accusing us of not covering climate change and we do that almost every day.”

Co-host Ana Navarro later told Cruz, “I’ve been very vocal and very critical of you, but I am sorry that this has happened in our house.”
This is not the first time this week Cruz has received pushback during his visit to New York City.
A video of Cruz being booed while attending a game at Yankee Stadium was shared on Twitter Sunday.

Additionally, he took to Twitter to share a clip of his appearance on “The View.”
“[The View] couldn’t handle learning about the hypocrisy from Democrats: Hillary said Trump was an ‘illegitimate president’ and said George W. Bush was ‘selected not elected,'” Cruz wrote.
